Usability Testing: Develop and construct iterative tests to determine product ease of use and user understanding.
Usability Assessments and Design Reviews: This is an evaluation of an application, prototype or user interface design specification. It identifies potential problems, gives recommendations for improvement, and suggests activities that would help achieve the overall usability goal
Work Flow and Task Analysis: Task analysis involves observing end-users performing work in their normal environment to determine needs and key design requirements. The Task Analysis identifies workflow patterns, conceptual models, objects, actions, and the interrelationships.
Usage Model Development: The goal of a Usage Model is to provide a conceptual description of how users are expected to interact with a product and provides a philosophical base for the design and development of the user interface. As a document, it provides a user-centered focus for usability objectives and user requirements.
User Interface Guidelines and Standards: The first task is to get consistent with the guidelines that govern the delivery platform. The second task is to determine guidelines and standards for situations that are not addressed in the platform standards.
User Profiles: A User Profile documents characteristics of the user population that are relevant to interface design. It tries to reflect the knowledge, experience, psychological, job, tasks, and physical characteristics of the user audience.
